Take a look at this thousand-song playlist of Daft Punk’s musical influences

Friday, January 20, 2017, marked the 20th anniversary of Silly Punk‘ s seminal Research album, which included such classics as “ Da Funk, ” “ Revolution 909, ” and “ Around the World. ” The lp which would introduce one of dance music’ s most impactful acts also included “ Teachers, ” a playful track in which Daft Punk paid homage to a number of their affects. Among the “ teachers” listed in the particular song are Green Velvet, Robert Hood, and Dr . Dre.

In honor of the landmark album’ s 20th birthday, FACT commissioned a “ Teachers” -inspired mix from music historian plus devout Daft Punk fan CK. The musical archaeologist’ s blend, which spans over an hour in length, is the third volume of his “ Teachers” influence mixes – in support of the tip of the iceberg. After making the mix for fact, CK took the initiative to laboriously compile a Spotify playlist along with over a thousand more songs through Daft Punk influencers (1, 018, to be exact).

CK’ s extensive playlist presents the incredible breadth of Daft Punk’ ersus influencers. The first hundred songs from the playlist alone range from electronic progenitors such as Carl Craig and Kraftwerk, to rock stars like Brian Bowie and Van Halen. Each CK’ s playlist and blend are available to stream below:
