What Kind Of Equipment Should I Get To Begin Making Electronic Music?

I’ve been playing for Fruity Loops demo for about a week now and just creating beats with it. I’m looking to buy a laptop, what kind would be good for making electronic music, also what other software and hardware would be helpful? Any other tips would be appreciated also.

There are a host of programs you could check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Aud… But if you’re happy with FL studio that would work fine too. I’ve been using the producer edition for years now (and lately also Ableton Live) and it’s still my preferred program for doing music. Keeps getting better with every version. In case you’d like to buy it, here’s a link for 10% discount: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/sho… This only works for orders of $90 or more, and only for new customers so get all you want in one go. What else could you need? A nice set of monitor speakers helps with production (I have some simple Alesis M1 Active Mk2) or a good set of headphones to produce with, perhaps a little mixing panel. I also use a MIDI controller which can be great for recording your ideas. I use the Novation Remote SL which also is great for controlling the parameters of synths and fx with sliders and knobs instead of having to do that with a mouse on the computer.
