What is Electronic Music?
"Electronic music" generally implies the use of electronic instrumentation to create (synthesize) or to manipulate sound. Today the term "electronic music" only suggests that the quality or character of the music sounds synthetic, processed/manipulated by electronics, as opposed to being performed by acoustic instrumentation. In electronic music, sitting on one's laurels is not tolerated by the audience for very long.
Can anyone make Electronic Music?
All music requires intelligence, especially electronic, because not only do you have to have the intelligence of knowing how to arrange a song and create melodies, but you have to create the instruments electronically which requires somewhat scientific learning rather than just learning how to play a piano or something, which the sounds are already there.
Is electronic music taught in the schools?
Only some, very progressive music programs. Teaching music with the use of keyboards and computers is the trend in contemporary music pedagogy. Students learn by creating their own music via a hands-on experience. Music is played on a synthesizer and it is automatically entered into the computer where students can manipulate it and create their own pieces.
What kind of gear is used to make Electronic Music?

What is dubstep?
Dubstep is a new genre within electronic dance music. The best way to recognize a dubstep track or mix is by the reverberating sub-bass that is present in most productions. The sub-bass is reverberated at different speeds to give a sense of movement and insistence. Dubstep originated from dub remixes of 2-step garage that was taking over London at the time. Remixers attempted to introduce new sounds into the 2-step genre, resulting in a sound that would soon require its own name. Dubstep, the word, is simply the combination of "dub" and "2-step".
